I believe good psychological care begins with listening carefully and understanding the individual behind the problem.
For more than four decades, I have helped people gain a clearer understanding of themselves, overcome challenges, and make meaningful changes in their lives. At Creative Psychological Services, I provide comprehensive psychological assessment and therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and couples. The assessment work primarily focuses on psychoeducational, gifted, ADHD, and other clinical assessment. The psychotherapy is grounded in science and tailored to your needs.
My professional background includes training and experience in clinical, school, and health psychology, allowing me to consider psychological concerns from more than one perspective. I have worked in hospitals, schools, and private practice, including the Toronto District School Board, Centenary Hospital, Calgary General Hospital, Alberta Children's Hospital, and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
When an assessment is needed, I look beyond test scores or symptoms to understand the whole person. I consider cognitive abilities, learning and attention, executive functioning, emotional well-being, developmental history, and the demands of the environment in which a person lives, learns, or works. The goal is to provide more than a diagnosis — to offer a clear understanding of strengths and challenges, along with practical recommendations that can be useful at school, university, work, and home.
When psychotherapy is the focus, I draw on more than 40 years of clinical experience and evidence-based psychological approaches, to address your individual circumstances and goals. I work with concerns that include anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship difficulties, stress, loss, and significant life transitions.
I have also taught university students and medical trainees and supervised psychology students and professionals at several institutions. These roles have required me to remain closely engaged with developments in psychological science and have reinforced my commitment to thoughtful, effective, and ethical clinical practice.
My approach is calm, compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I combine current psychological knowledge with the perspective that comes from decades of working with people who face complex and often very demanding challenges.
Whether you seek an assessment because you want answers and direction, or psychotherapy because you want something in your life to change, my goal is to help you understand yourself with clarity and purpose, recognize your strengths, and develop realistic ways forward.
